Definition of the visual identity of the journal

Before the launch of Geodynamica: Earth & Planets, an important step is to define the visual identity of this new Diamond Open-Access Journal (DOAJ).
We would like to invite you all to send us your ideas in order to create the logo and the visual identity of your new journal dedicated to Earth and (exo)planetary interior structure, dynamics and evolution.

For this first call for ideas, your creativity is the only limit 🙂 ! If you feel like drafting a logo for Geodynamica: Earth & Planets, don’t hesitate to send us your ideas via email (to geodynamicaj@gmail.com) or via Discord on the #media-team channel before the end of the year. After that deadline, we aim to shortlist a few of your creations and submit them to a community-vote on Discord.

To guide you in the creation of the logo for Geodynamica: Earth & Planets, here are some basic “rules” to keep in mind:

  • The logo should be meaningful and symbolize the scope of Geodynamica: Earth & Planets (see previous post to read/comment on the scope)
  • The logo should be simple, memorable and scalable: we should recognize it and its meaning even if it is small, and if it’s printed in black and white.
  • The logo should preferentially fit in a square.
  • The logo can correspond to any specific letter of the name of the journal (Geodynamica: Earth & Planets). See examples from Seismica, Volcanica and Tektonika.

We cannot wait to receive your ideas!
