Over the past few years, different fields of Earth Sciences have witnessed the inception of several diamond open-access journals that aim to remove the paywall barriers and offer a platform for true open science, like Volcanica, Tektonika, Seismica, Sedimentologika and Geomorphica.
Building on these previous efforts—and based on discussions held in previous geodynamic conferences—it is time for a DOAJ in the field of Earth’s and (Exo-)Planets dynamics. Such an alternative to the classic profit-based scientific journals does not exist yet; we are building it.
