Submit a manuscript

Geodynamica will be open for submissions this summer. Stay tuned…

Mission Statement

The mission of Geodynamica is to facilitate formal scientific dialogue by publishing high quality peer-reviewed original research on topics falling within the scope of the journal. Geodynamica is not-for-profit, exclusively organized and supported by the efforts of the scientific community, and prioritizes the needs of scientists in the service of openly communicating our science both to one another and to the entire world.

Target Audience

The primary target audience of Geodynamica are those performing research in the broadly defined field of geodynamics (see our scope for more details). As such, Geodynamica is an appropriate platform for sharing science involving technical details of interest to specialists in the field. In order to ensure the greatest impact upon the target audience, and to help facilitate dialogue within the community of specialists, we solicit reviews from those who we judge to be among the key target audience for the submitted work.

Community Standards

Geodynamica strives to maintain a welcoming and positive environment as a requisite to achieve our mission of open science. Geodynamica will not discriminate against any person for any reason. Our work and our decisions are exclusively restricted to matters of science that fall within the scope of the journal. The interactions carried out in connection to the journal are a reflection upon our entire community, as also laid out in the Code of Conduct.

  • The entire Geodynamica team, our reviewers, and authors strive to work and interact with one another in a respectful and positive manner.
  • Critiques, comments, and other interactions should be limited to scientific and practical matters alone.
  • Abusive, impolite, or extraneous matters may be flagged by anyone. We encourage all to bring these instances to the attention of any member of the Geodynamica team.
  • Editors will not accept, nor utilize, reviews that contain abusive, overtly biased, ad hominem, discriminatory, or other kinds of inappropriate content.
  • Every participant is encouraged to act in a manner that serves as a role model for the behavior of the entire community.

Structure of volumes / issues

The articles will be published online immediately after (1) acceptance of the manuscript by the editorial team and (2) acceptance of the proofs by the authors. Peer review documents may be published along with an article upon agreement. Geodynamica will publish one volume per year, with articles grouped into two issues. Note that Geodynamica does not plan to publish special issues at this time.
